Lyric

Lyric
At the squeaking of the trundling wagon
And that awakens the sentry chajá bird,
The sorrowful soul of the cowman goes
Homeward bound through the canyon.
And the sleepy drone of his whistle
With which he hopes to encourage the oxen,
Miles and miles drag in the rumination of
The dappled team
He’s in no rush to get there
As his song says:
There is no distance to tire
Oxen of dreams.
"Who says “There is no greater dream
than returning home after an absence."
And the poor man with his cart follows
The canyon trail.
But nothing remains of the ranch that
Six months ago he left,
Like a pampero wind, it had all gone
The bad luck of the cruel months away.
And the sleepy drone of his song
With which he wanted to revive his faith,
The old wagon is dragged on by
The dappled team
There’s no need to hurry
For as it says in his song:
There’s no marsh to stop
The cart of the heart ...
"It is the evil wind of absence
that blows in the home"
And the poor man with his wagon follows
The canyon trail
